It took me a handful of years to start using my grocery coupons in a way that saves me a good chunk of money every time I go to the grocery store. It took me so long to learn the ins and outs of grocery coupling because I never looked to any one for help, tips or tricks. Don’t make the same mistake I did because now I regret all the years that I could have been saving lump sums of money at the grocery store. If I would have started years ago, I’d probably be writing this blog post from the Bahamas or something
Tee hee… Anyways – moving on!
I have jotted down two grocery couponing tips that I think everyone could use, from the first time coupon-er to the coupon addict! Here they are:
1. Research Your Grocery Store’s Coupon Policy
You should always know a store’s coupon policy. Learning of opportunities like “double coupon days” can instantly double your savings. If you shop regularly at a nationally branded grocery store, it is quite simple to learn about their coupon policy. You can either ask a store manager or find some literature that lays it out in writing. I recommend just asking someone – it’s simple and straightforward. If you shop at a locally owned grocery store, the best way to find out the coupon policy is by asking. Don’t be shy – this is savings we are talking about!
2. Combine Store Coupons and Manufacturer Coupons for Double the Savings
Most people know that there are two popular types of coupons: manufacturer coupons and store coupons. Store coupons will only work in that particular store (the one who issued the coupon), but manufacturer coupons will work at any store that sells the specific product. These two types of coupons can be used together to maximize the savings on particular product. Think of it this way – the store is reducing the price and the manufacturer is reducing the price – a win-win situation for you!
I have a ton of useful tips like the ones listed above, but I am going to save them for my next post. Implementing these two tips into your couponing activities will keep you busy for a while
See you next time!
